Westclox 1949 Big Ben Quartz Green Alarm Clock Review

In spite of the fact that this item leads with WESTCLOX, as if it were a manufacturer name, it is a 100% made in China knock-off.It looks just as pictured, a very cool retro green color on the metal housing (though the dial has a bizarre bile green-yellow wash at it's edges which isn't particularly fetching)but the workmanship is second-class all the way.(I grew up with Big Ben clocks, and know the difference.)The tiny PLASTIC knobs on back for setting the alarm are barely protruding enough to get hold of them and set the alarm.It requires the removal of two TINY Phillips head screws to put in the AA battery.How convenient!I'd return if I hadn't had to pay shipping twice.I'll be amazed if it lasts longer than a year.So....if you only want looks, fine.But if you expect old fashioned craftsmanship and quality materials, look elsewhere.Especially for the price.
