Shipping was a bit high, but alarm clock works great and is fair for the price.
Living in hurricane territory, I definitely wanted some clocks that would function with or without the help of Florida Light and Power and that I would not have to reset whenever I experience a momentary loss of power. Three Emerson Smartsets made us a very happy household for almost two years now, until this morning. I went over to Brookstone where I know they sell these clocks to complain that my clock did not Spring forward. They handed me a sheet explaining how to manually update my clock (something I will need to do 4 times a year for my clocks purchased pre Marc 2006). Here's how you do it for anyone frustrated as I was:

If you're searching for a simple, small footprint alarm clock with no additional features, this is a best bet.The design could not be simpler or easier to use - no instruction manual required, although one is included.Buttons on the top set the time and wake-up time, a switch on the side turns the alarm on or off, and there is a 9-minute Snooze button and Off button on top. That's it.Works like a charm right out of the box. Insert a 9V battery (not included) to keep it running during power outages and you're set.Display is clear with good visibility.
This clock radio is great!I love being able to set the alarm for my M-F workweek and not worry about having to make any changes on the weekend.The time projection is fabulous!I loved it so much I bought my mom one for Christmas and sent it to her in Florida.She loves it so much that I am going to purchase another one for her place in Illinois so she doesn't have to take one back and forth between her summer/spring place and her fall/winter place.My only complaint would be that the snooze is too close to the bar behind it and I have on a couple of occasions hit the wrong one and overslept!
Great product. A bit of a learning curve to get the World Time Zone set, but the remote temperature sensor is on my back porch and sends in a good clear signal upstairs through our two-story home. The only funky thing about it (projector works great) is the projector sleep/lock. If the projector is set to ON it is very bright and lights up the darkened room almost too much. So I turned it off, to touch-on only mode, which strangely goes into lock mode if left inactive for a bit and makes you hold down snooze for many seconds until the display projects again. I mostly have it off now which defeats the cool purpose of hitting snooze to temporarily show the display. Even the main display is really bright and can be like a night light -- but so close to the bed is too bright I found. Still geeking out with it though and love it overall.
I threw away my money on an Equity Insta-Set alarm clock. "You never have to set it" - this is only true if you would like your alarm clock to tell you the wrong time. I live in Florida. Right now, it is 4:43 PM and we are on Daylight Savings Time. According to my new Equity Insta-Set clock, it is 6:39 AM, for an error of 10 hours and 4 minutes. If you want your clock to show you a time that is 10 hours and 4 minutes off from the real time, you'll love the Equity Insta-Set.
This was a replacement for the same clock that broke. This one is lighter
I will totally admit I was pretty skeptical about this clock to begin with. I recieved it as a present, and I honestly thought it was a little too in-line with the "organic, natural" movement for my taste. I am used to waking up with a standard alarm clock "wonk wonk wonk" everyday, and I never really thought twice about replacing my alarm clock. However, I started using it and within 2 months I am completly addicted- I'd pay $140 for it any day of the week. My mornings are more relaxed and I wake up in a much better mood. This company has made a life-time customer out of me- I really can't imagine switching back to my alarm clock radio.
This clock requires an electrical outlet for normal operation. The battery is intended only for brief power outages.
nice and simple, one button, on or off, no snooze, runs quiet. who wants a fangled device clock at 5am?this old style clock will get you out of bed, quite simply, and remember to place it across the room so you have to get up to shut it off.good-night.
I was so excited to receive my iMode from my wife for Christmas 2008. All the main features seemed to work -- AM/FM Radio, iPod, Alarm Clock x 2 -- except the remote control. It comes with a battery. Since it didn't worked, I assumed it was drained and I replaced it with a new battery. It still didn't work. This was disappointing, because this was not a simple on/off remote. This remote allowed the user to complete EVERY function that can be done on the console of the iMode itself. This is a rare completely inclusive remote for the price.
I really wanted to like this chime clock. I don't like waking up to blaring sirens or radios. This offered a quiet progression of real chimes to wake me up.
Pros: Pretty dial, quiet, bell type alarm, simple to operate, heavy and won't knock off table easily. Clock is white, not greenish. Different style.
This is small, but nice for a travel alarm.Time is accurate (I checked it with my other atomic clocks).
This clock is very cute. The red looks lovely in my daughter's room. However you should only buy this if you want something decorative. The alarm is horrible. It is soooooo loud it wakes up people in other bedrooms and is the most jarring and horrifying way to wake up.We are going to open up the back and see if we can dull the bell sound somewhat but as of now we haven't been able to set the alarm.:(
About 8 months after I purchased this item the clock display started to blink erratically and the alarm now fails to function at all.The sound is great; both CD player & radio work.The warranty is only 90 days.I really love the size and all the functions, so I'll take my chance and purchase another, hoping it will last in full function.Jensen has such a good reputation!I'm surprised at this failure.
Son loves it. It's the perfect clock for his night stand. The alarm is super loud so we do not set it.
I bought this on a lark, because it was cheep... Okay, okay. I saw this clock in my 88 year old neighbor's kitchen last month, and as we caught up over tea and carrot cake, every hour's chime was a real treat. I did my online research and chose this clock from this vendor, and I'm very pleased. Yesterday I hung my singing birdie clock and I love it to bits! Every hour my cats turn their heads and go.. "Whuuut?" The sound quality is perfect, it's loud enough to hear throughout the house, but not too loud, like there's a real bird in the kitchen for a few seconds. Nice feature that it goes quiet after dark. I'm sending one to my Mom today. Then she'll think of me every time a bird sings (as opposed to every time she feels a headache coming on). This is a really great gift. (You'll need 3 AA batteries on hand).
Projection, clock and radio with color clock changing temperatures all rolled into one. For some reason my daughter really likes it and that is all that counts. She is amused on how the clock changes color with the temperature and projects the time on the ceiling. It is also has atomic adjusted time and a pressure trend with a weather forcast. This is almost like a toy for a child, but adults may not like the flimsy design or the sound. Will have to see how this clock holds up over time.
I don't typically write reviews, but i am writing this as a response to a particularly malicious review which claims that this radio is unable to receive AM-HD radio stations.

I've had this product for over a year now and both my husband and I like it very much.I don't find that the aXbo is any more difficult to set than with a regular clock. I set it for the time that I would set a regular clock for, say 6:30, and realize that it could go off as early as 6:00.
I was initially delighted with this product when I bought it six months ago.It looks very nice and functions well.The display is easy to read.The alarms work (though as another reviewer noted you don't get two alarms per day).The gentle back illumination works nicely to let you read the display at night.I haven't paid much attention to the weather display except for the temperature and humidity functions, so I won't comment on those.But I have a few comments worth recording.
this clock had all the good features but the alarm is unbearably loud even on the lowest setting. it sounds like a school bell from grade school adding insult to injury
Great little clock, it is even smaller than I imagined it would be. So far it keeps great time. The second hand is a little loud, but that is typical for analog clocks.
My kid wears hearing aids, due to severe hearing loss, so she finds it hard to wake up to an alarm. I found this item on Amazon.com and have had a lot of success with it.Once we set the time and alarm time, there is a switch on or off, that my daughter uses to activate it.She puts it on her arm, and is vibrates continually until she turns it off. She has noticed that it also vibrates every hour, a few quick vibrations, then off on it's own ~not sure how to turn that feature off, but other than that we love it. She has her independence without waking up the rest of the house to loud obnoxious alarms or one of us having to get up to wake her up.
I don't like it. Here's why:
This is my second iHome, the first was a single dock that worked for about 6 months and then the volume and tuner knobs stopped working. Luckily we saved the remote or this would be in the trash. My new, 2 month old, iHome (dual dock) is still working, but two of the lit buttons do not light anymore (see the importance of this in next paragraph). Both units have decent sound quality and options. There are multiple alarms which are helpful.
I was glad to find that Westclox Big Ben was still in production. My last one lasted almost 15 years and I was lamenting that other clocks I tried did not work as well. I ordered three and all three keep perfect time, no adjustment necessary. My only small complaint is the hour knob is hard to turn, but hopefully will loosen up with use.

I bought this alarm clock for my 6-year-old daughter who loves all things princess.Although it is cute sitting on her nightstand it is one of the worst Disney products I have purchased.
The backlight went out after just 2 days....it no longer lights up on either the face or shell.
I had this clock growing up in rural Texas.We used it for years, and then one time we took it outside while we were doing some work (clearing brush or something like that).I forgot the clock out there and didn't find it again for months, possibly even a year.Guess what -- when I found it again, it still worked!The plastic case (mine was white) was yellowed from the sun, but otherwise it was no worse for the wear.Quite impressive.
My daughter asked Santa for a pink alarm clock with butterflies.I looked everywhere.Thankfully I found it here.It is her favorite gift.Too bad Santa got the credit.It shipped quickly and was everything it promised.
We absolutely LOVE this thing.It's so nice to be able to look up at the ceiling and know what the time is and whether to pull the covers up tighter and snuggle a little longer.I've had a projection alarm before that was in a blue light.It was so bright you could read by it and I found myself covering it up to block the light.This one has a soft red light that doesn't burn your retinas through your eyelids.We live in a very cold climate, this winter even more so than usual.Being able to see the outside temperature without having to even roll over has been nice.The only issue is if the electricity is turned off you have to set the temp sensor again.Other than that, it's so great my husband wants to get them as Christmas presents for his employees next year.
In order to set the alarm, you have to remove the battery cover.Inevitably you will wind up jarring the battery and reset everything, which is very frustrating.The time set and alarm set buttons should have been in a different spot.

I've had some trouble sleeping and my brother, who is an expert in these things, recommended the Sound Oasis. However, we got a gift card to Brookstone so we decided to give the Brookstone one a try.It's small and good for travel, worked fine out of the box, and is easy to use. I push one button and the sound comes on. I haven't played around with the alarm yet. My only negative points are that the face is a little too bright on the nightstand, but it is very readable. Second, the number of usable sounds is very limited. Pretty much I like the rain, thunderstorm and the white noise.The others are a little too New Age-ish for me, but some people may like them. I would prefer a greater range of sounds.You can also record a 15-second one of your own, which we haven't done.The sound quality is fine. I haven't noticed any distracting repeats in the sounds. It is more expensive than some sound machines out there, but since this is the only one I've ever bought, I can't say if it is better than the others.
I see many complaining of the hour time loss, advance. There is a button inside the battery compartment that turns Daylight Savings Time on and off. If you're having trouble with the correct time, press the button and see if this helps.
I bought this clock previously from Radio Shack under their brand name.All our frends were amazed at how clear that it sounds. We liked it so well that we wanted to give them as Christmas gifts, but Radio Shack no longer sales them, so I went looking on the net and found them here.
...a low-tech electric alarm clock.I bought this as a gift for my picky mother, who was distraught that her old bedside clock--a version similar to this one--died after many years faithful service. She wanted an electric clock (with a plug, not batteries) with a lighted dial and this one filled the bill. Simple, no frills..it tells the time and wakes you up. She also likes the silent operation (no ticking) and the soft-glow (kind of a pale orange) of the clock face. The first one I sent her didn't work, but Amazon replaced promptly with no issues.
I bought this clock many years ago from Restoration Hardware. The first one malfunctioned somehow -- don't remember what happened; so I exchanged it, which the store did willingly, back then. The replacement has lasted all these ensuing years -- about twelve by now -- until I accidentally knocked it onto a hard-surfaced floor, and the alarm mechanism broke beyond repair. I had it by my bed, so I replaced it with a different one that I already had (don't like it as well), and I put my precious Big Ben in my very classy bathroom. It is a very classy clock! I miss it in my bedroom but will not replace it just yet due to the increase in price after all these years, and the fact that I don't want to have two clocks just alike! I love to look at it, though, still; and it keeps perfect time.
The clock is really cute but it has poor reception. Maybe if it had some form of an antenna it would help. It is hard to get a clear sound. It takes alot of movement to place it in the right spot to get clear reception.
I was looking for a small, pretty basic alarm clock and so glad I found the Equity 30330 because it suits my needs perfectly. I didn't want one with all the bells and whistles, my husband has had one like that on his side of the bed for 6 years and I still can't figure out how to work it. Some must haves for me were that it be cordless, and especially had a display light that wouldn't bother me when I was going to sleep (not too bright). Seems to me from reading some other reviews that this is a common issue with people. For me, the little lights on my DVD player even bother me so I was very hesitant to order any alarm clock online without seeing it in person but I'm very glad I took a shot. This nifty clock is just perfect for me, the display is dim (soothing on the eyes), not too dim that I can't read it but rather just perfect where it doesn't bother me at all when I go to sleep (I believe this is what they are referring to in the description as "nightvision"). It also has a display sensor where if you wave your hand over the snooze button, the display will temporarily light up much brighter (LOVE this feature). It's so easy to set and has not failed me even once. I LOVE the snooze because it will just keep going off until I finally get out of bed, my last alarm clock would snooze 2x and then turn off (of course I would still be sleeping after it turned off...not good). Not much else to say about this clock other than for $13.00 I'm very happy with it. Is it fancy? no but it is rather contemporary looking as opposed to many others I've seen. Basically, I'm up and on time every day, can't ask for more than that. I would definitely purchase this again and highly recommend it.
