I shudder to think of the outlandish sums of money we spent during the Cold War.If we had only waited we could have copied the Chinese and wrecked their economy easily.Do you realize how commerce and progress are impaired when no one has an alarm clock that works?If you're old enough you probably remember how the country stood still during the subway strike in Manhattan.Imagine the tribulation of everyone being late for everything with no one striking.Take this as a warning.
I bought the alarm clock pictured here when my $6.95 clock gave out after only two years and three months.Spend more money and it will last forever I assured myself.This has lasted for six weeks. It hasn't worked, but it has lasted.I'm too cheap to throw it in the dump.What is the problem with this handsome clock you ask?First, should you get the alarm to go off it won't go off.The method of turning the alarm sound off is a secret.I removed the batteries and it still honked at me.After a suitable time I replaced the batteries and it hasn't sounded off since.Ever. It adds time as the urge becomes uncontrollable.This clock gives the correct time twice every twenty-four hours.You just have to know when to look at it.Of course, my broken pocket watch does as well.My computer clock reads 10:40, I assume p.m. because it is dark out.This expensive alarm clock says 12:34.It may be keeping Far East time.If my cat bumps it the thing might read 12:35 but you can't set your clock by it.

When you are retired like me you need a good alarm clock to get you to the doctor visits on time.So what choice did I have but to buy a different one.As a matter of fact I now have four alarm clocks.All of them attractive in their own way, each shows a different time, and none alarms.What is your problem you ask?Every one is made in China.We are being destroyed by our one time enemy by the minute and hour.If only we had invested all that money we spent preparing for a killing war, we could build a clock factory here and make a decent alarm clock.When I signed in to do this review, Amazon warned only four of these clocks were available.If you want to donate money, non-deductible on your income tax, to the world economy you better hurry.My advice?Go to China and buy a clock made in the U. S.
