I bought this clock because I wanted something that wouldn't use electricity and would be eco-friendly. Sadly I was quite disappointed for several reasons, the main one being that the water-battery is NOT reusable and when it dies you have to buy a new one from the company website. Yes, you can refill the battery with water several times, but eventually the battery has to be replaced completely. I'm not sure how much it costs, because I'm refusing to buy one. My original battery lasted about 6 months. Other reasons why this clock is not eco-friendly:1) The product is made of a non-recyclable plastic.
2) Battery has to be replaced periodically and the company offers no way to recycle your existing battery.
3) Replacement batteries must be shipped, which costs more money and uses more energy.
If you really want a low-impact alarm clock I would get something solar powered, or a wind-up clock.
